Hello!

I’m Laura and I am the creator of Little Woof, a home for my original books, stories, and illustrations. For more than 20 years, I worked in the animation and children’s illustration industry, contributing to projects for Disney TV Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Warner Brother’s Animation, Sesame Workshop, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

I grew up watching cartoons of the 1970s and ‘80s. I was inspired by Hanna-Barbera, Strawberry Shortcake, and Peanuts. My favorite author-illustrator was Richard Scarry. There was something about those colorful images and simple storytelling, that made me want to create worlds of my own. Since there wasn’t much merchandise available for the characters that I loved, I started drawing and the rest is history!

Why I Created Little Woof

After spending much of my career helping bring other people’s stories to life, I now get to write and illustrate graphic novels and original characters inspired by the many things I loved as a child.

I want to make children’s content that feels joyful without being overwhelming. Stories with humor that comes from personality, rather than noise.

I live with my husband, 2 kids, and share my creative space with my 2 dogs, who were the inspiration behind the name. They provide a daily source of comedic inspiration!
